242x55 Ironwood Kasumi
242x55 Ironwood Kasumi
This knife was forged from wrought iron clad san mai that was made in my shop. The wrought iron used on this one came from a local bridge in Missouri. This has been some of the best wrought iron I have used, it’s stringy yet refined. The core steel is 1.2519 German tungsten tool steel which is similar to blue#2. This knife has a wide bevel convex grind that has been Kasumi finished on Japanese natural stones. I would consider this knife a workhorse grind suitable for general kitchen tasks. The handle of this knife is composed of highly chatoyant ironwood. The handle is oval/round shaped.
