257x54 Kasumi

$750.00

This is a wrought iron gyuto with 1.2519 core. This steel is similar to aogami #2. This knife has a Kasumi finish done by myself on Japanese natural stones. Kasumi finishes are not very common among western makers. They take a lot of time, but the end result is absolutely worth it. It also provides an easily thinned knife. The wrought iron polishes extremely well on japanese natural stones. This handle of this knife is composed of a single piece of two-tone spalted maple. The handle on this one is a slightly chunkier version of my D handle. This knife will be a perfect candidate for kasumi polishing on Japanese natural stones.

Disclaimer: This wrought iron is extremely old and has large silica deposits in the iron which are naturally occurring and sometimes this results in voids in the iron. This is the nature of old wrought iron and part of what gives it its beauty.
