This is a wrought iron Chinese Cleaver with 1.2519 core. This steel is similar to aogami #2. This knife has a Kasumi finish done by myself on Japanese natural stones. Kasumi finishes are not very common among western makers. This wrought iron polishes extremely well on japanese natural stones. The handle of this knife is composed of ringed gidgee from Australia and an African Blackwood ferrule. This knife would be a perfect candidate for kasumi polishing on Japanese natural stones due to the already stone worked bevels. The wrought iron on this knife was sourced from a large antique wagon wheel. The polish was finished on my ohira suita.
